Highlights of the Lakme Fashion week:
The second day of the Lakme fashion week was declared as a sustainable fashion day. This day of the Lakme fashion week was dedicated to indigenous weaves and sustainable fashion on a platform that is recognized all over the world.
The showcase of homegrown textiles was brilliant on day two and the event was splendid with the sarees that were presented on the ramp. Organic fibers were used in the making of these fabrics and the designers depicted some unique saree draping styles that are deep-rooted in India. Some of the favorite saree draping styles that were spotted on the ramp are as follows,
- Belted Drape at Khadi & Village Industries Commission Presented by Anuj Bhutani
· Jacket with Saree presented by Aavaran Udaipur
· Cropped Top With A Printed Saree worn by Padmaja
- Pallu Drapes by Maku
· Monochrome Saree by Soham Dave
· Frill Border Saree with A Buttoned Blouse at Ecovero presented by Abraham and Thakore
Though sarees alone didn’t capture the true essence of this sustainable day, the designers were also seen experimenting with indigenous fabrics and transforming them into contemporary silhouettes fit for the modern-day living.
